We have several SQL anywhere databases on a local area network addressable by TCP-IP that are frequently re-installed with different database names. For years now, I connect to these databases with Sybase Central connection profiles by TCP-IP, server name unspecified, and database blank. I say 'unspecified' because the connection string contains "ENG=unspecified" in it. I cannot get Toad to connect with default database or blank database. I get database server not found. In Sybase Central, I just leave the database name blank. In Sybase Central, when I get a connection error, I can view the connection string. Is there a way to get the Toad connection to work without a database name?
