Toad for SAP Solutions now supports a new SAP® in-memory Big Data platform HANA. It is possible to connect to any version of HANA up to SPS09. The HANA SPS09 drivers are included in Toad. SAP HANA Connections To connect to HANA: Click Connect and select SAP HANA. Enter IP address (or the master host name) in the Host field and a two-digit instance number. Enter User and Password and Connect . Note : The communication port number is defined by: n xy, where n is either 3 or 5, is a two-digit number representing the instance number of the SAP HANA appliance, and xy represents a consecutive number. Toad users only enter the instance number. In Options tab of Create new connection you can set: Isolation Level - Specifies the default isolation level for the connection. Lifetime - Specifies the maximum lifetime for a connection that is to be pooled. If a connection has been open for longer than the maximum lifetime, then the connection is not pooled when it is closed. The default 0 means unlimited. SAP HANA SPS09 Cockpit With HANA SPS09 and above click HANA Cockpit to access this new feature. SAP HANA SPS09 Series Data SAP HANA Series data are now supported in Toad To enable Series data set a table to the column type in Create/Alter Table Editor | Columns. A new Tab Series Options will appear where preferences for Series data table can be set. SAP HANA SPS09 Create Statistics There is a new Object Editor and Object Details where Properties and Script of Statistics can be easily adjusted. Only Column Tables are supported. Import Wizard for SAP HANA To Import Queries: Right-click a Table and select Send To | Import Wizard . Choose Query, write your query, select Target table and/or columns. Complete remaining steps to Import a Query. Remote Sources and Virtual Tables Display Remote Sources and their Properties under the Server Objects node in Object or Database Explorer Right-click in Object or Database Explorer and select Create Virtual Table to launch its Editor New Object Details Virtual Columns Tab is now available Virtual Tables have different icons from other HANA Tables Explain Plan for HANA After execution of a query, query plan tab is now available. Compare Features for HANA Text Diff and Data Diff for SAP HANA Click Compare | Text/Data Diff to access this new feature. Data Compare for HANA Click Compare | Data Compare to access this new feature. Note : Schema Compare for SAP HANA is not supported.
